1. Our Core Principle: Data Sovereignty

When And Where Contacts, LLC ("we," "our," or "us") builds tools founded on user sovereignty. WAW Contacts is designed so that your social connections, relationship timelines, and location memories remain under your control. We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal relationship data.

2. On-Device Storage & Future Encrypted Synchronization

By default, all personal contact cards, spatiotemporal coordinates, interaction notes, and metadata are stored locally in an encrypted sandbox on your device (using native SwiftData or local Room storage).

To accommodate multi-device workflows and secure backups, WAW Contacts may offer optional cloud synchronization. Any cloud-backed transmission employs end-to-end encryption (E2EE) or client-side partition isolation, ensuring our servers cannot decrypt or read your personal relationship graph.

3. Historical Address Book Import & Estimation

If you choose to use our historical import utility, the application requests read-access to your native device address book. The app processes contact record creation dates locally to derive an estimated spatiotemporal anchor. These contacts are marked with a distinct historical estimation flag. Imported records are never transmitted to external data brokers.

4. Location Information (CoreLocation / GPS)

Location access is requested exclusively to anchor where connections happen in real time or to verify physical proximity during venue placard check-ins.

• Coordinates are recorded locally on your device.
• We do not run continuous, passive background tracking trails.
• Location refinement runs on a brief, bounded session window (up to 3 minutes) solely to resolve indoor GPS accuracy.

5. Privacy-Preserving App Telemetry & Diagnostics

To ensure application stability and improve features, we may collect anonymous, non-identifiable technical metrics (such as crash diagnostics, operating system versions, and aggregated feature usage frequencies like card creation or scan counts). These metrics contain no names, phone numbers, email addresses, or precise GPS coordinates.

6. Anonymous Footprint Analytics (B2B Venue Scans)

Scanning physical venue placards via the wawc.co routing service registers an anonymous, cryptographically hashed counter at the edge to calculate venue foot traffic velocity. No personal identifier, device ID, or user profile is revealed to the venue.

7. In-App Purchases & Billing

Digital purchases (including our Multi-Card Generator and Historical Address Book Import) are processed directly through Apple App Store In-App Purchases (StoreKit) or Google Play Billing. We do not collect or store your payment card details.
